"My children have been with the academy for three years: it has become a part of their daily lives. My oldest daughter was first to learn piano and my son followed by taking violin with Candace. He really loves Ms. Candaces enthusiasm and teaching style. We wouldn't go to anyone else."

FAQs About Music Lessons at JFMA

Do you teach adult students?
Absolutely! We have taught students into their 80s. No one is too old to take music lessons. It is all about following your interests and making time to learn.

Children as young as 3 years old can join our music school. Young children will begin with fun lessons on the fundamentals of music before progressing to piano lessons, violin lessons, guitar lessons, or other instruments.

We recommend children be at least 4 to 4 and a half years old to start taking piano or violin lessons, and at least 6 years old to start guitar lessons.

Anyone who has an interest in learning! Whether you or your child are looking for a fun hobby, looking to pursue a career in music, or somewhere in between, our music lessons are for you. Our music teachers and programs are designed to meet your specific interests, musical tastes, and learning styles.

When taking music lessons at Joe Ferrante Music Academy in Monrovia, you can expect to study with top-of-the-line professional musicians. All of our music teachers hold degrees in music, many years of experience, and enjoy professional careers, including performing, composing, and more. But they are also here to help our students find joy in music and explore their own natural gifts.

Music lessons will be held weekly, and most lessons will last for 30 minutes (although longer lessons are available as well).
