From Cello To String Bass To a Whole Lot More...
The Joe Ferrante Music Academy offers lessons in four major string instruments: violin, viola, cello, and string bass. Beginning training includes a thorough understanding of the physical instrument and bow and we recommend beginning musicians to start with the violin. Students can begin taking violin lessons as young as 4 ½ years old and do not need to have their own violin to try lessons! We offer both traditional and Suzuki training methods as part of our violin program.
Beginning violin training includes a thorough understanding of the physical instrument and the bow, the names of the violin strings, fingering, tuning, and posture. Our violin students learn basic note reading, violin techniques such as pizzicato, slurs, arpeggios, staccato, and basic shifting, theory, and advance to understanding and demonstrating musical dynamics, scales, harmonic and melodic scales, and vibrato.

"My children have been with the academy for three years: it has become a part of their daily lives. My oldest daughter was first to learn piano and my son followed by taking violin with Candace. He really loves Ms. Candaces enthusiasm and teaching style. We wouldn't go to anyone else."
