The Recital Experience
Since its very beginnings, Joe Ferrante Music Academy has exercised its philosophy of performance-based learning with multiple recital and public performance opportunities for its music, foreign language, and language arts students. We find that recitals are the best way to learn the important skills of artistic interpretation, expression, and building confidence.
Preparing for a set performance date not only encourages students to practice regularly, but also to take responsibility for creating and sharing their personal articulation of a musical or literary piece and truly make it their own.

What to Expect from Our Recital Program
Our structured recital program is designed to provide a professional and rewarding experience for both students and families. Held at local venues in the Monrovia area, these events highlight student accomplishments in piano, voice, violin, guitar, drums, and more. Each recital is thoughtfully curated, with support from instructors who help students prepare their pieces in advance. Vocal Recitals That Inspire
Our vocal recital events give voice students the opportunity to perform solo or in ensembles, showcasing technique, expression, and style. From classical arias to contemporary favorites, our voice students learn to command the stage with presence and professionalism. These vocal performances are often the highlight of the season, giving families and friends a chance to hear the incredible progress made throughout the year.
Contract Recitals and Community Performances
In addition to our in-house events, we also offer contract recitals—special performances arranged in collaboration with local schools, retirement homes, and community events in and around Monrovia. These unique opportunities allow students to gain real-world performance experience while sharing the joy of music with the broader community.

I started taking guitar lessons with Alex about 2 months ago. It has been fantastic. Everyone at the school is incredibly nice, and it really has a low-key small town community type atmosphere. My lesson is one of the best parts of my week and I look forward to it every time. Most of the students are children, but I'm not. If you think you are too old to start an instrument or to take music lessons, you are incorrect! It's never too late to strike up the band. Give it a try, you will be glad you did.

They're really professional there. I got to take piano lessons while in high school, and although I didn't appreciate it then, it was a great experience. I later took guitar and piano lessons there as an adult, and I was happy with their teachers. The staff was always accommodating. When I have kids, I will definitely be taking them there. The teachers are great!

Online zoom call lessons have been working great. Patient teachers, service oriented front desk staff, charter school payment allowed. This place has been excellent for my 3 children.
